Description:

Train in the fundamental skills of Leadership. Learn how to think, speak and act like a leader to inspire others to follow. It begins with reading other's body language and raising our own self-awareness. Train to manage our emotions and the emotions of others. And learn to accurately read the seven universal emotions in the face.

 

Objectives:

  • Understand employee perception of supervisory behavior.

  • Identify and articulate the eight categories of nonverbal cues.

  • Understand the hierarchy of emotional intelligence skills.

  • Learn how to expand your emotional vocabulary.

  • Learn how to manage your emotions and the emotions of others.

  • Learn how to identify the seven universal emotions in the face as you learn to more accurately read others.

Proactive Leadership II

Prerequisite: Proactive Leadership I

Description:

This course focuses primarily on social intelligence (SQ) skill sets essential for effective leadership

Topics include reading people and situations using observation. Train to accurately read micro-expressions,

Practice engaged listening and how to respond to what others are saying, feeling and doing. This course also

includes a comprehensive curriculum on asking questions to obtain detailed, accurate, truthful information

essential for quality decision-making.

Objectives:

  • Learn to apply the fundamental social intelligence skills for assessing interpersonal situations.

  • Learn how to articulate the three areas we are assessing with our observation skills.

  • Identify the four inferences made using observation skills.

  • Train to detect micro-expressions.

  • Learn what to do when a micro-expression is detected.

  • Learn the four components to being a more engaged listener.

  • Learn how to avoid being perceived by others as judgmental and why suspending judgment is a misnomer.

  • Learn to listen for keywords and phrases.

  • Learn how to apply the three levels of responding to what others are saying, feeling and doing.

  • Learn how to demonstrate empathy toward others and still hold them accountable.

  • Learn questioning techniques to enhance decision-making.

  • How to use key words and phrases to ask insightful and pertinent questions.

  • Learn questioning strategies using open-end and closed-end questions to obtain detailed, accurate, truthful information to make well-informed decisions and avoid unintended consequences.

  • Learn when to ask open-ended versus closed-ended questions.

  • Learn how to apply the “Funneling” technique as a powerful strategy for obtaining detailed information as someone shares their story.

  • Learn what keywords and phrases require more clarification when used in an answer or statement.

Proactive Leadership III

Description:

This course applies the nonverbal communication, social and emotional skills as you learn interpersonal models to effectively manage confrontation, positive feedback, managing belief systems, build subconscious rapport, enhancing trust and minimizing distrust, and applying transformational leadership.

Objectives:

  • Understand why confrontation is called the weakest link in leadership.

  • Learn to apply the operational social intelligence skills for reinforcing appropriate behavior and discouraging inappropriate behavior.

  • Understand why the use of a corrective feedback model is a critical leadership skill.

  • Understand why supportive feedback is one of the most important skills a leader can possess.

  • Learn why neuroscience says supportive feedback is significantly more effective than corrective feedback managing employee behavior.

  • Understand why rapport is a critical skill when building and maintaining relationships.

  • Learn the new paradigm shift in what we now know about trust and distrust in human relationships.

  • Understand why humans trust and distrust.

  • Learn how to mirror and lead others to build subconscious rapport.

  • Understand how to identify an anchor and why they are important in motivating others.

  • Learn how to apply anchors as a social intelligence skill for personalizing and initiating as a form of transformational leadership.
